Panic spread across Siliguri's Sevoke Road on Wednesday morning after a fire broke out at Planet Mall. The blaze originated inside a bar located within the mall, causing a significant commotion in the area. The fire department and police were immediately informed of the incident.
Upon receiving the alert, fire tenders rushed to the scene. Firefighters engaged in a strenuous effort for hours before finally bringing the flames under control. Fortunately, there were no customers or staff present in the mall at the time of the incident, and as a result, no casualties have been reported.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit is the likely cause of the fire. Both the police and the fire department have initiated a joint investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the blaze.
